I love looking back on my reading list each year and remembering all of the stories I read, both fiction and non-fiction, that kept me laughing and smiling. I’m excited to share these books with you!
Here are the books I read in 2021 in order:
Make Life Beautiful by Shea and Syd McGee. If you watched Dream Home Makeover on Netflix, you’ll love reading the back story of how this amazing couple built Studio McGee .
Entwined by Heather Dixon. Love this YA fantasy novel. Simply enchanting! A perfect winter read.
Live in Love: Growing Together Through Life’s Changes by Lauren Akins. Country singer Thomas Rhett Akin’s wife tells the story of how they met and how God helped them create the life and family of their dreams.
The Off Limits Rule by Sarah Adams. Absolutely hilarious and so sweet. Sarah Adams is my favorite clean contemporary romance author!
Falling For Your Fake Fiancé by Emma St. Clair. Another favorite laugh-out-loud romantic comedy with a sassy southern leading lady.
Glimpses Into the Life and Heart of Marjorie Pay Hinckley. A woman I love and admire who inspires me to be a better wife, mother, and to move through life with optimism and humor. I’ve read this book several times and love it.
Wintering by Katherine May. An insightful and timely read, perfect for the coldest part of the year. She reminds us of the necessary good that winter brings and helps us to embrace the “winters” of our lives with courage.
Little House On the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder. My inner pioneer woman wanted a glimpse into what life was like on the American frontier. I loved these books and the show as a little girl.
The School of Essential Ingredients by Erica Bauermeister. Such a beautifully written book! My fellow foodies will appreciate this one.
The Montessori Toddler by Simone Davies. I keep this book on my nightstand and reference it all the time. I love the Montessori principles and have found this book so helpful in creating toddler friendly spaces and activities in our home.
Falling For Your Best Friend by Emma St. Clair. Another cute, clean romance in the same series as Falling For Your Fake Fiancé.
Carving For Miss Coventry by Deborah M. Hathaway. There is such great chemistry and funny moments in this one! Loved it!
The Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams. Can’t go wrong with a little football player + ballerina romance. Such a fun read!
The Temporary Roomie by Sarah Adams. Can you tell just how much I love this author? This one just wrecked me. Many moments spent stifling obnoxious laughter while reading this in public. So, so funny
The Holy Temple by Boyd K. Packer. After a year of our holy temples being closed, I was thrilled to be able to attend the temple regularly again. This book helped deepen my understanding of and love for sacred temple ordinances and for my ancestors who have passed on!
The Magnolia Story by Chip and Joanna Gaines. I’d read this before and just love all things Magnolia. Such an inspiring couple!
The Twelve Holidates by Emma St. Clair. A cute Christmas novella that fits in with her other books in the Love Cliche’s series.
