I’ve felt like there’s been so much to read, learn, and absorb over the past couple of weeks, and to be honest I’m still not really sure what I can contribute or say about the recent tragic events that have taken place in our country and the impact they’ve had on Black families, husbands, wives, mothers, fathers and children.
Though our little family may never experience the horrors of racism, there are small and simple things that I can do to be a better sister, advocate, and true friend to my Black brothers and sisters. I can pray constantly for those who are suffering. I can pray for healing and help as I do the work to refine my own heart and judgmental thinking patterns.
Jesus Christ has set the perfect example for us as to how we are to treat each other. “Love one another as I have loved you,” he taught in John 13:34. Though we may not be, His love is perfect and can shine through our imperfect efforts to be better as we seek Him.💛

My husband and I watched Just Mercy last week and it was so eye opening. I couldn’t believe this story had taken place so recently. I’m excited to continue to learn more about Black History through similar media!
