Riddle me this…
Why is it SO satisfying to flip through the pages of a cookbook with beautiful photos of colorful food, personal stories, and mouth-watering recipes?
Reading cookbooks is one of my favorite past times, so I thought I would share some of my favorite cookbooks that contain delicious, wholesome recipes that we love and make regularly in our house!

Favorite Vegan Cookbooks:
I first came across Angela Liddon’s vegan recipes on her blog many years ago and immediately bought her first cookbook, Oh She Glows: Over 100 Vegan Recipes to Glow from the Inside Out.
I’ve cooked through countless recipes from her first and second cookbooks (Oh She Glows Everyday is pictured above), her blog, and the Oh She Glows app, and many of them have become some of our all time favorite plant-based recipes!
Recipes to try:
Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Grain-Free Cookbooks:
Just flipping through the pages of the Sweet Laurel cookbook is therapeutic!
Two friends started a paleo friendly bakery in California and this is their cookbook full of baked goods made with whole foods ingredients and not only taste delicious, but look so gorgeous!
Their vanilla scented waffles are my favorite, and though I’m not a big cake person, I love their simple cake recipes, all made without refined sugar. Follow Sweet Laurel on Instagram for lots of grain free recipe inspiration!
I absolutely love Danielle Walker’s blog and Against All Grain cookbooks, full of gluten-free, dairy-free, and paleo friendly recipes that are seriously so good!
I have yet to try any of her recipes that I didn’t love. Follow Danielle on Instagram here.
I also have Kristin Cavallari’s True Roots cookbook and have loved several of her recipes as well, including her delicious salad dressings, sides, and refined sugar-free desserts.

Traditional Cookbooks:
My sister gave me a copy of Date Night In by Ashley Rodriguez when Cayden and I were first married, and it is such a gorgeous book and so fun to read!
My favorite brownie recipe of ALL TIME is also inside this cookbook (these bittersweet brownies with salted peanut butter frosting are EVERYTHING a brownie should be…might have to go make myself some tonight…ha!).
The pages and cover of this book have chocolate stains all over them.
NO SHAME!
I also love Eva Kosmos Flores’ dark and moody food photography and delicious seasonal recipes made with fresh produce from her garden in the First We Eat Cookbook.
You’ve got to follow Eva on Instagram and check out her recipes on her blog, Adventures In Cooking.
What are some of your go-to cookbooks? I am always down to try new recipes and love flipping through the pages of new cookbooks!
