You Are Enough

You are enough

Do you believe it?

Because it’s true!

Who you are, right now, is enough.

You are worthy of love right now, just as you are.

You have a great capacity to add value to the world through your art, your music, your friendship, your kind words.

You are enough.

I’ve spent much life listening to my inner critic. That little voice that tells me I’m not pretty enough. Smart enough. Happy enough. Outgoing enough. Talented enough. Hard working enough. Anything enough!

Bless my little inadequate heart, it’s taken me 26 years to figure out that who I am is so much more than what I can do or even what I choose to do. I’m infinitely more than the insignificant numbers attached to my social media profiles. I’m more than my voice. I’m more than just my family relationships.

Who I am is eternal and divine. Who I am is magnificent!

I used to think that in order to be worthy of success or happiness or love or friendship, I had to constantly be hustling. I had to constantly be working to stay ahead of the curve in order to earn my worth.

If only I had realized sooner that no matter how hard I worked, my worth could not be earned.

It’s something that has already been given to me, a gift that I will never be able to repay.

Becoming the person you want to be is not a checklist you can mark off in just a day, or a month, or a year. It’s a journey to be walked over a lifetime!

And so this week my challenge to you is this:

  • Practice more positive and compassionate self talk. Be gentle and loving with yourself! You are precious!
  • Stop beating yourself up for not getting to every little thing or every single person on your to do list. Developing small, consistent habits that build up over time is how you’re going to get to where you want to be. Focus on doing just one thing each day to help you move toward your personal goals, and let that be enough.
  • Find moments of stillness and silence.

Find rest in the knowledge that who you are is, and always will be, enough to God. You are His child. He loves you!

The price has already been paid. The score has already been settled.

You are enough!
