I know what you’re thinking…how can “best” and “green smoothie” even exist in the same SENTENCE?! I shall tell you how, my little green friends.
Green and leafy foods are my favorite food group. Like…I eat spinach by the handful straight out of the bag. If there is a green smoothie or juice on the menu, consider it ordered.
BUT. I’m married to a man who could thrive on a steady diet of ramen and pizza. The only colorful food he enjoyed prior to marrying me was sour patch kids, so I took on the challenge of creating a spinach and kale filled drink that even he would guzzle down. Out of all of the concoctions I’ve had him try, this is by far the BEST!

It seriously takes five minutes to chop up these fruits and veggies and toss them into a blender. You could even prep the ingredients and freeze them in individual bags, then just add your liquid and blend away! Here’s what’s going down:
- Cucumber
- Green Apple
- Coconut Water
- Spinach and/or Kale
- Frozen Pineapple
- Frozen Mango

Sometimes I like to add raw ginger, a squeeze of lime juice and a few ice cubes to make it cool and refreshing.

I never thought it possible, but my husband now requests this recipe and sometimes even MAKES IT HIMSELF. Miracles never cease! Green happens to be his favorite color and this smoothie always turns the most beautiful, vibrant shade of green. Definitely had that working to my advantage.
